7.5 miles 1,750 ft elevation gain Difficulty: Difficult One of the most photographed places on the Appalachian Trail you can get amazing views from this rock overhang on a clear day. Campbells Shelter is just off the trail.

About the event
We will meet in the Short Pump area around 8:30 am and head out to Roanoke. Hike to McAfee Knob, enjoy your packed lunch among the clouds and views then head back to the trailhead. Spend the evening in Roanoke or head back home.
